Crystal Palace 2-1 Manchester City: Murray & Puncheon leave title defence in tatters

xclusive-showbiz-city-vrs-crystal-palace
A late Yaya Toure goal gave Manuel Pellegrini's side hope of salvaging a point at Selhurst Park, but Alan Pardew's men held on for a huge win while the champions slipped to fourth

Crystal Palace put a huge dent in Manchester City's faint hopes of retaining their Premier League title with a 2-1 win at Selhurst Park on Monday.

Goals either side of half-time from Glenn Murray - his fifth in as many matches - and Jason Puncheon sealed all three points for Palace, with Yaya Toure's thumping late drive proving scant consolation for the champions.

Manuel Pellegrini's side now sit nine points adrift of Chelsea having played a game more, and they head into Sunday's derby with Manchester United in fourth and a point behind their rivals having lost three of their last five league fixtures.

City felt Murray's first-half opener should not have stood, claiming that both he and Scott Dann were offside in the build-up, with replays showing the two decisions to be marginal.

But there could be no complaints over Puncheon's free-kick early in the second period, a fine curling effort that left Joe Hart with no chance.

City pressed hard to get back into the game and Toure's rasping shot reduced the arrears with 12 minutes to go, but they could find no way back as Palace's resurgence under Alan Pardew continued.

Martin Kelly for Pape Souare was the hosts' only change from their 2-1 win at Stoke City last time out, and it was the former Liverpool defender’s dangerous cross in the second minute that Wilfried Zaha blazed over from close range when he ought to have scored.

City responded strongly to that early scare and pinned Palace back with a period of constant pressure.

David Silva twice brought smart saves out of Julian Speroni, while Sergio Aguero struck the base of the left-hand upright with the goalkeeper motionless.

Aguero stabbed over as City continued to dominate but then, against the run of play, Palace took the lead in the 34th minute.

Dann got on the end of Joe Ledley's flick and, after his effort was saved by Hart, the ball ran kindly for Murray to tap home from two yards.

City left the field at half-time complaining to the officials about the validity of the goal, and their mood was not improved three minutes after the restart when Puncheon sent a 20-yard free-kick over the wall and into the bottom-right corner.

There was further controversy 20 minutes from time when Murray clearly handled Fernandinho's deflected shot in the area, but referee Michael Oliver waved away City's vociferous appeals for a penalty.

James McArthur did brilliantly to clear another Fernandinho effort over the bar as the visitors piled on the pressure, and Toure's superb left-footed strike from 20 yards raised hopes of a comeback.

City substitute Samir Nasri and Toure both went close with deflected efforts late on but, as was the case for Liverpool last May, City's bid for Premier League glory seemingly came to an end at Selhurst Park.

Cheating In Indian Exams Reach New Levels As Parents Climb Wall To Supply Their Kids With Help

xclusive-showbiz-cheating-in-indian-exams.
Indian Education
It must take some dedicated parents who would be interested in aiding and abetting their kids cheating during an exam.

Cheating in Indian schools is already widespread, with the BBC reporting that many students smuggled in textbooks and notes into the examination hall despite tight security. The exams were being held by the Bihar School Examination Board for Bihar Secondary School students.

Aside the considerable cheating by students themselves, some parents and other family member were photographed scaling the school’s walls to supply their wards with some extra help in their exams.

Visit Our Channel: Amazing Video's Boutique

The BBC’s report even interdict police officers, some of whom were clearly accepting bribes to look the other way for these malpractices to continue.

It seems it’s not just Ghana Police who delight in such activities. It’s amazing that parents who are supposed to be their kids moral compass; would be so intent in helping their kids cheat they would scale walls and put their lives in danger.

Lil Win Says He Will Invoke Curses On The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA)

xclusiveshowbiz-lil-win
Lil Win
Popular Kumawood star, Kwadwo Nkansah known on screen as Lil Win says he will invoke curses on the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) if it decides to ban celebrities from featuring in any commercial advertisements promoting alcoholic beverages in the country.

He says the directive will bring untold hardship on them so they will resist its implementation.

The FDA has issued a directive banning celebrities from advertising for any alcoholic beverage in Ghana.
The ban according to FDA, is to protect the interests of underage fans of popular personalities because advertising for alcoholic beverages have the tendency of luring the personalities’ underage fans into engaging in alcoholism which is against the law.

But the multiple award winning actor has rubbished the directive and has hinted that, entertainment industry players in the country are cash strapped because there is no money in the industry. According to Lil Win, some of the celebrities depend such advertisements for survival and that banning them from engaging in advertising for alcoholic beverages will worsen their situation.

“We entertain people to make them happy, but ironically we weep when we get home because the pay is too small. So we will be left with no other option than to invoke curses on Food and Drugs Authority if they dare try to prevent us from advertising alcoholic deleverages which has been our source of additional income,” Lil Win noted.

He further explained that they will accept the ban only if Government decides to invest in the entertainment industry to cushion the industry players financially.

Sarkodie Asks Fans To Fear Not

Sarkodie Asks Fans To Fear Not
Sarkodie asks fans to fear not, after prophetess asks him to meet her for serious prayers

Ghana’s celebrated rapper, Sarkodie, has allayed the fears of his fans about his well being after one Prophetess Maame Gladys proclaimed last week that some musicians who are jealous of his success will attempt to “spiritually break him down”.

In an interview with Showbiz on Monday, Sarkodie confirmed that he had heard about the prophecy but was not moved because he has a strong faith in God to protect him from his “enemies”.

“I am not worried at all. I believe in the one true God who has been my source of power and fame since I hit the limelight. I am a very prayerful person and my team as well. I don’t think that any weapon formed against me shall prosper when I have a good heart and truly serve my God,” he stated.

According to the prophetess who resides in Asamankese, she had a vision that, the You Go Kill Me hitmaker’s success has become a bait to attract enemies to himself because “he always sweeps all awards whenever he is nominated, therefore, he, Sarkodie, serves as a threat to them”.

“In the meantime, what I can tell Sarkodie is to fast and pray else the plans of those evil musicians are likely to come true. As much as I have been praying for him, I wish he also does same by praying for himself,” she said.

But Sarkodie who confirmed to Showbiz that his management had contacted Maame Gladys as she requested said he appreciates her concern for his life but had always sought God’s face in all his endeavours in the past as she admonished.

Born Michael Owusu Addo, Sarkodie is highly regarded in Ghana and beyond for his lyrical prowess as a rapper and a leading hiphop/hiplife artiste on the Ghanaian music scene.
Sarkodie, who was honoured with the Artiste of the Year award at the recently held Ghana Music Honours at the National Theatre has many awards under his belt including the Best International Act at the BET Awards which he won in 2012.

He received the highest number of 11 nominations at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
When asked his chances of winning the Artiste of the Year award for the third time after grabbing it in 2010 and 2012 respectively, he remarked, “ 2014 was a great year for me and was equally a great year all the nominees in the category so everyone deserves to win it”.

xclusiveshowbiz.blogspot.com
Ghanaian rapper, Elorm Adabla, more commonly known by his stage name EL has said he is having a tough time finding a girlfriend because most ladies do not trust celebrities and are afraid of committing to them.

“A lot of people don’t trust artistes like myself, like stars like myself. They think we are promiscuous but that’s not true.

EL who was a guest on the Morning Starr said he is an individual who is totally honest with himself and would want a trustworthy person for a partner.

“She has to be able to trust me and also has to be honest with herself”.

He revealed also that he controls his excitement when his fans celebrate him so as not to allow it to get into his head.

“Most of the hype that I get, I am like: ‘See you, see you. You go flow me like this noorr, the next artiste will come wey so noorrr u go flow am’” he said in pidgin.

“It’s very unsettling when your energy level is on, lets say three, and someone approaches you with a certain energy which is like 50 and starts screaming EL!!! It’s good, I appreciate all the love that I get all the time but sometimes I’m like: ‘Chaley, chaley I make wild.’”

Yvonne Nelson Claims To Be A Secondary Virgin This Year.

xclusive-showbiz-yvonne-nelson
The 29-year-old Ghanaian screen diva in a new interview with KSM on Metro TV talked about her career and relationship issues. She stated that she is a ‘secondary virgin’ and she hopes to stay like that as she is not in a rush to marry.

“This year i am a secondary virgin i am just trying to concentrate on my career. I am not in a rush; I do not want to marry today and divorce tomorrow because it happens a lot in the industry. Marriage is a beautiful thing but it has to be right. I do not want to let my mom down, I want to make her and myself happy,” she said

The actress explains how a lot of men get intimidated one way or the other with her success.

Most Ghanaian men are intimidated; most often when it is age appropriate; then they think i am doing better than them and that i am going to be bossy and control them around. Those around my age are bothered that i am an independent lady. That has always been the problem”.

“There was about two guys who got scared. But I really do not mind. Middle of last year, I was trying out something and I was not convinced so I backed off. It had to do with the man not being matured enough” she explained.

The actress further talked about her dream man saying; “The person has to be age appropriate – a five year gap is okay. But I do not want someone too old because when that happens, you can not hold a conversation with such a person”.

He is too busy to have time to react to it, he is indifferent… he is right now excited about the shooting and nothing else.” When asked if he had congratulated the new mum, our source said “The important thing is that he wishes her well, he cares about her, that they are no longer together doesn’t mean they don’t talk anymore.” When further asked if Nadia Buari will feature in the next season of the reality show, we got the response… “Right now, Nadia has got a bigger responsibility.

This is a very important chapter in her life and that is what matters.” Asked to tell us about Nadia Buari’s rumored fiancé, our source said, “I am sorry, I cannot help with that.
